ABOUT ME
I created the Wombat Vlogs in July 2011. I made it as a means to provide Ukulele tutorials to people to pass on my 'Skills'.
I'm self taught on the Ukulele and the Banjo and also play Piano (at grade 6 level) and Alto Saxophone (at grade 5 level). I've been learning musical instruments for as long as I can remember and thought I'd try out the teaching side of things.
Good luck with that one...
WHAT MADE YOU MAKE A YOUTUBE CHANNEL?
Like many 15 year old's, when I created the channel It's no secret that I desired money. Many people have been successful from a Youtube career and I thought, 'Hey, why don't I try that?' So I took to my web cam and started making videos. I started off doing cover videos but then realized that if I ever wanted to become a partner and start earning the BIG BUCKS I wouldn't be allowed to apply with other people copyrighted material on my page.
So that's when I decided I would set up a website and start making tutorial videos.
And then something COINCIDENTALLY SPONTANEOUS happened.
Guess who won a SONY CAMCORDER in a writing competition?
SHAZAM, IT WAS ME
So that's when it got serious and I started making some better videos.
And now guess what happened? That's right, you're talking to an official invitee
of the youtube video monetisation program!
So now we're actually making MONEY. Real money! So it's now as if everything I have wanted is happening in just a few months.
Anyhow, I digress.
Now as you would imagine, it's hard to teach songs without playing the song itself so I decided I would separate the lyrics from the song. I would make videos explaining how to play the chords, strumming pattern etc. and then re-direct my viewers to this website to see how to Play along to the song.
Hence the concept of my series name.
